Mintyessence | My year through outfits!

To end off the year I thought I would put together a collection of outfits I wore in the past year. Not all of my outfits are featured but I chose my favourite looks for each month. All sorts of styles are shown above, whether they are fashion fails or style-tastic ensembles, we all go through these stages which shape are current style.
2013 has seen so many amazing opportunities come my way, meeting new people, interacting with readers on another level and strengthening friendships. It has truly been a whirlwind which I don't want to end!
I look forward to sharing more outfits with you in 2014!!

Happy New Year everybody!!!

The Alchemist Trinity Leeds | Winter Terrace

A few weeks ago I was invited to preview The Alchemist Winter terrace in Leeds Trinity. I have to say it was a wonderful chilled out experience with some lovely girls, Em and Remie.

The Alchemist Winter Terrace has a beautiful view looking down onto the high street Boar Lane. We were given fur throws which kept us warm and cosy as well as a heater over every table which kept us toasty. We forgot about the drizzling rain and cold wind outside. With the lanterns, winter-warming drinks and Christmas specials we were sorted for an evening of chit chat.

This was my first time here and after hearing about the magical potions they sell, the drinks were fab! The platter to share was amazing! The chicken wings are yum-tastic. This will definitely not be my last time here :)
To end the night we had a hot chocolate and marshmallows. yummm!
Below are some pictures I took on the night.

Have you been on the Winter Terrace yet?

OOTD | Grey Court Shoes

Dress: Primark
Cardigan: Choies
Tights: Primark
Bag: Zara
Shoes: Zara
Watch: River Island

I hope you had a Merry Berry Christmas with friends and family because I certainly did. I'm ready to renew my gym membership but I will sort that out in the new year. For now I have for you an outfit of the day that I wore to church today. I sang a little song with my sister accompanied by my brother on the piano which, to sum it up, said to not look back and move forward in life making the right decisions. What  lovely message to end the year with I think.

After my late night on Christmas day, I still woke up early to hit some sales. I took my cousin with me to experience hard core sales shopping, who is currently here on holiday from Trinidad.
This year has taught me that I really am not keen on online shopping, I prefer giving everything a full on MOT when shopping so Zara was the first stop, then Boots, then SpaceNK etc. These grey court shoes are so beautiful and were only £19.99. I got a bunch of other things but I will feature them later.
The dress is a cheap Primark find at £5 which is monochrome- plain and simple. The cardigan/cape brightens up everything!

I am now off ice-skating... yay!!

Did you find any amazing deals in the sales?

Red Theme | Christmas Party Dresses

RED | Festive Outfit Look

1 | Wine Lace Corset Dress £18.99
2 | Cicily Suede Gold DetailCourt Heels £29.99
3 | Punched Metal Clutch Minaudiere £59.99
4 | Milici Watch £35.00

Christmas day soon and I cannot wait! In the morning I will most likely wear some warm PJ's to open presents etc but for the evening I always like to dress up.
This dress is a gorgeous wine coloured dress which I came across on the Mary Jane website. So many cheap going out dresses from Mary Jane fashion I just had to hold myself back a little from all the lovely dresses.
This lace number looks great with the gold clutch. I have been loving this classy hand held clutch ever since I laid my eyes on it at the re-opening Manchester launch.
I have finished most of my Christmas preparations apart from all the food shopping which I will finish off today.

Clothes Show Live 2013

This year I made it to Clothes Show Live 2013 where they celebrated their 25th year!!

Clothes Show Live, held at the Birmingham NEC, is a huge fashion and beauty convention jam packed with lots of different brands, experts, catwalk shows and all round talent. There were cutting edge designers, highstreet, boutique and quirky market street stalls to shop at... so a little something for everybody. This was done over 4 days (6th- 10th December) and I went on the 8th Sunday.

After meeting up with Sindy and Nokhuthula at the press lounge, we headed straight to the shopping stands. So much was discounted so it was hard not to part with some cash. The perfect opportunity to get Christmas presents too!

Every so often casts from 'The only way is Essex', 'Geordie Shore' or 'Made in Chelsea'  would just be wondering around right past me... as they do... followed by some screaming teens. How very bizarre :o

Later in the day we made our way over to the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fashion Theatre where we watched an amazing 45min show hosted by Henry Holland. The theme was 'Weekend in the Country'.
After a little talk by Amy Childs and Gemma, Union J opened the show! My seat had to be the best one in the house!

Overall, it was a great day out. As you can see I didn't buy any clothing items on the day but I did buy some beauty items and magazines to last me for quite a while. I am super impressed with the actual live show and the designs that were showcased. My weekend would have been so much better if I could have seen Paddy McGuinness  hosting the live 'Take me Out' ah well...

If you got yourself the Yankee Candle advent calender this year, you are so lucky! Having a different festive smell burning throughout your household sounds lush!.

I love to burn candles especially sweet smelling scents. To be quite frank, if I could get my hands on all the Yankee candles in one go... oh boyy :) Yankee candles are thee perfect gift for everyone as there is certainly a smell out there that they will love

Above are a collection of some candles I have loved ever since I sniffed them in store. Yes I said 'sniffed' with no shame at all.
If I had to pick my favourite out of all of them, it would have to be 'Christmas Memories' as this sweet spicy smell sends a warm tingle down my spine... everytime!!

It's Christmas | Festive Jumpers

Chistmas Winter Knits

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

These are just a selection of warmest snuggly winter knits out there on the market. As I said in my previous post 'Winter Jumper OOTD' these are great to wear all through the holiday season! Don't think they are cheesy or uncool because they really are not!! Quite the opposite in my opinion haha :)

You will notice from my outfit yesterday, I styled my Asda Reindeer jumper which is the cute item no. 3.
Mary Jane has a large Chunky Knit jumper range as well as Primark which has large selection of affordable designs. They even had a jumper that lit up in the men's section. You can also find that your locals stores are filled with them like Asda, Tesco and even Sainsbury's.

Hurry though, as you don't want them to sell out!

Which one is your favourite design?

OOTD | Reindeer Winter Knit Jumper

Jumper: George*
Leggings: Primark
Booties: Primark

I am so excited it is December the 1st, advent calender opened, Christmas tree is now up... let the festivities commence!!

I was going to do blogmas religiously this year, but I did not want to commit to something I may or may not do due to being really busy in December. However I will do my best to post very regularly I have some things already planned for this month's posts.

Owning a Christmas winter knit is 'must' this time of year and most definitely acceptable. I went shopping last night and everyone was wearing them which made me want to buy more and more! There are so many different designs to choose from in every shop you go in even ones that light up.

For this outfit post I wanted an over-sized jumper. This red reindeer jumper from the men's section in George is perfect with thick leggings or jeans. If you are a scrooge, this may not tickle your fancy but you cannot say this is not cute! right?! It is perfect for a cosy night in around the fire. Hence the warm fire in the pictures above.

The quality is great overall as the material is thick but not too heavy. This long sleeved jumper can be dressed up with a dress underneath and collar peaking through the top of the crew necked features. Alternatively, the jumper looks lovely with my warm indoor booties from Primark. They have not left my feet since!!
How is your Christmas shopping going? I am quite on track and so pleased. I think perfumes are a perfect Christmas gift to give and I recently came across cheap perfume from TJ Hughes! They have so many brand names which I really need to re-purchase for myself haha. I think this year I also feel like putting up some outdoor LED Christmas lights. I am so excited to see if I will be successful at this.

Have you got a Winter knit at the ready?

OOTD | Zara Cape

Cape: Zara
Vest: Primark
Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Tesco
Bag: Zara

Get a cape wear a cape fly... was all I could think of when I wore this cape. If you have never heard of it, google the song! War of the World's is a tune.

This cape is light weight, cream and super trendy. Not extremely warm but nothing a thick scarf or fur stole can't compliment. I do have a faux fur burgundy fur collar which I could not find for this look.. boo!
The faux leather white skirt from the Kardashian Kollection is such a beauty especially in person. Their collection is not bad at all, so I was happy to nab this in the sale for £10.

My Christmas shopping is nearly done so I'm proud of myself for keeping on top of things. However, guys are so hard to shop for! So I'm still working on their presents...

How is your Christmas Shopping coming along?

Country Attire's VIP Bloggers Day

I was recently lucky to be invited into the Country Attire HQ behind the scenes to see how everything works there which was amazing!

For those of you who don't know, Country Attire is an luxury online website. They were first established in 2006 with their primary focus 'country clothing', however following their re-branding in April 2013, this changed to more of a lifestyle focus. You will see from the pictures below.
Having a talk with the owner of the company Jenny Parker, I have learnt that they stock more than 60 fashion brands such as Barbour, Vivienne Westwood, Lola Cruz, Hunter, Sebago, Hugo Boss and so much more as well as their own brand CO/AT. They cater for women, men and children plus, they have free shipping to all countries!!

We were all given some scrumptious cake made by Jenny's mum herself, Jane Hargreaves...delicious! Along with some other blogging chums and representatives from Truth PR and Sebago, we were shown around CA's new location since August 2013. We saw their office location with the customer services section, eCommerce, merchandisers and product warehouse. The in-house photography studio was my favourite as it was great to see the perfect set up that goes behind the superb finished images on their website.

As well as spotting some beautiful pieces throughout the day, I was really impressed by the quality of their own brand items like the knee high boots! As you will see below, my wishlist for CA is not small :)
