OOTD | Plum in a field of wheat

Top: Next
Skirt: Warehouse
Bag: Zara
Shoes: Primark

Hi guys!
I was really melting this fine day but I found a gorgeous location that was perfect for shooting some pictures and a video. Purple is a colour I love to work with, all year round!! So here I put together a summery outfit with a maxi skirt, my black top with shoulder cut outs and my lovely peep-toe heels. I thought I would add the orange belt as they matched my toes :)
I keep adding to my collection when it comes to these shoes. I could not say no to the red pair... so you will be seeing that in an upcoming post.

You can find the Outfit of the Day footage here :)

I am off on my holiday to Paris tomorrow so I have been stressing on what to pack and what not to pack. My dad keeps telling me 'pack light' but knowing me, it may be easier said than done. Hopefully I will upload some scenic and outfit posts whilst I am away. Hope you are all enjoying the weather :)

Thanks for reading/watching!

OOTD | Flowers and Lime

Top: Lasula Boutique*
Skirt: Gap
Shoes: Zara
Bag: La Moda*

Hi guys!
Today I read a magazine about wearing flower prints plus stripes and whether they clash or a risk worth taking. I think some looks were okay but the ones with less crazy stripe details were better put together. However with some inspiration with the floral prints, I paired this gorgeous light top with hues of green, brown, white and black with this mustard coloured skirt... no stripes included. I would say this is a very girly combination. The black collar adds some character to the top and there really is no need to for a necklace. The bag I kindly received at the Fabbevents goes well with the look. I am not going to lie, everything was put together around this Sofia Lime bag because I could not wait to post about it! The chained straps really do match the lime/ yellow theme and the material is faux leather with a quilted style which I instantly fell in love with. La Moda has a wide range of expensive looking bags at such affordable prices. If you don't believe me check it out yourself :)

OOTD | Palm Tree Printed Dress

Dress: Vintage
Sandals: River Island
Bag: Zara
Watch: River Island

Hi guys!
This is what I wore to the Couture Crush Launch event last week. I'll tell you firstly about the outfit which Sindy kindly snapped for me and then more about the event.
Recently I have been looking out for a halter neck styled dress which looks so beautiful around the neck line. I found this dress in a vintage store near where I live and love the print of it. The palm tree leaf effects are mint green and the main colour is navy blue. Also I have recently invested in some strapless wonder bras. I have had some in the past but these are amazing and give you the support you need and obviously are perfect for dresses like this one. They roughly retail for £30-40 a bra but at the Junction 32 shopping outlet, I got one for £10 and another for £18... how good was that! I paired the dress with my trusty scandals from River Island. They are ever so comfy and was needed after blistering my feet with some Primark pumps the day before, boo! For events I find my City Bag perfect for carrying my camera in the padded section and the gold watch goes everywhere with me. You may have noticed in the second picture I was caught in the sun too long with a cut out top so tan lines are evident... oopsie :s

Anna | Nicola | Lily | Martina | Sindy | Me
Now the event was held at 'The Circle Club' in Manchester which was in a nice location full of drinks, cupcakes and we were treated to Canapes!!! Couture Crush website is where you can buy pre-loved, designer and vintage accessories which you can buy sell or even switch your own items. Authentic goods can also be found here and they have very recently launched on the 15th July. If you are interested, you can sign up here.

Review: MAC Plumful

 MAC Plumful £14.00
This lipstick that I had been hunting down for quite a while is a gorgeous purple shade which I love. As it is a Lustre finish it is smooth but sometimes I find the finish can be a little inconsistent so I end up putting on a few coats. This is slightly weird as this and Hue are my favourite shades but yet the finishes are not my absolute favourites. I bought this shade because the colour is just up my street! Because it isn't a very heavy purple colour, the light berry is perfect for summer.

The shade is purple/pink, but very sheer on first application, so has the potential to build up. I would describe the finish a little glossy but comparing it to my favourite creamsheen finish, I have to re-apply after 2 hours max, which is quite frequent.

Like all Mac lipsticks, I LOVE the vanilla scented smell mmmm :D

Event | Neal's Yard Remedies Manchester

Last week I was invited along to the Neal Yard Remedies event in Manchester. Lately I have been fortunate on the event side of things which I certainly cannot complain about. I was most looking forward to this evening because I had heard nothing but great things about this brand and wanted to experience more about it first hand.
When I arrived I was greeted with pleasant faces and offered delicious food and drinks. I had the chance to really look at the products they offered and I must say, they have a great range for individual needs.
Neal's Yard offer organic skincare to enhance health, wellbeing and also makeup which I was amazed to find out myself. With the use of different herbs and ingredients they can be of benefit for different purposes and do not contain synthetic fragrance, parabens or mineral oils. Because I have oily skin, I was advised that the palmarosa herb oil is great at mattifying and balancing out the oils of the skin.

I had an extremely relaxing hand massage which was a taster of their therapies they offer. Mine was done with the Geranium and Orange hand lotion which smelt... divine leaving my arms very relaxed. They also offer de-stressing treatments for the face, shoulder, scalp, massages, osteopathy, reflexology and more! Whilst having a lovely chat with the masseuse, I learnt that the British brand Neal's Yard in fact originated in Covent Gardens London in 1981.
Did you know the blue bottles keep the light out and the products fresher longer?

I had a lovely time and met some lovely bloggers that day too. One of the things I am loving right now is the White Tea Facial Mist which I was gifted as it is keeping me cool and collected in this hot weather.
Thanks for having me @NYR_Official :)

OOTD | Just Another Walk in the Park

Top: Zara
Shorts: ASOS
Shoes: (Converse) ASOS
Bag: Envy via StylistPickUK*
Watch: River Island
Sunglasses: Vintage

Hi guys!
Isn't the weather just amazing! I've been getting my summer glow on not forgetting my SPF lotion. Today I am wearing my new zara purchase which is a bright yellow, light weight, loose top. I wore it with my shorts which I am starting to embrace this summer. I hardly ever do shorts and rather opt for skirts, but I really like the look and plus if it's windy, you have nothing to worry about :) Recently I went to the Fabb Manchester event where I won a Stylist Pick UK bag, and this is it! The little bow is so cute and I especially love how it has two handles to be worn two different ways. My trusty white converses are ever so comfy and look to fresh in the sun, don't you think? These sunglasses were a little find in a vintage shop and I instantly fell in love with the round frames. However they are prescripted and seem to be bi-focal so my mum might find better use for them then I do. I am now on the look out for my own! I hope you are having as much fun as I am in the sun with BBQ's and festivals etc!!

Event | Fabbevents Manchester!

Hiya!
Last week I went to the Fabb events Manchester put on by the oh so lovely Tor and Ray! I know some people where weary at the fact they did not know what was in store for them until the day, but I have been to a previous one, hence why I knew they would not disappoint!

It was held at the 2022NQ space which was the same location as the Daisystreet event I had been to previously. This time, it seemed to be a lot brighter and a lot warmer due to the fabulous whether outside.

It was a very relaxed environment to be in and it was great to chat to brands personally and gain more of an in sight to them, particularly the ones that are only online websites. There were no talks from the brands like the Leeds one, which would have been great to fill in the time we had viewing the brands and leaving. However there were loads of time to chat! chat! chat!
These are the brands that were present:

Healthpoint is a company that suppies this brand to stores like Home bargains, poundland, Tesco and Savers to name a few. Very affordable and with a range of products that are comparable to other high end brands. I had the chance to pick my own items like a toner, bb cream and some other bits.

I was so happy to see this brand. I love Eldora! I did buy 3 pairs at IMATS and was delighted when I could pick any pair I wanted. I was stuck for choice but ended up picking the H155 pair.

They had some gorgeous bags on show but have even more variety on their website. I fell in love instantly with the green bag and told the ladies how much I loved it! I was prepared to buy it online because of it's great price tag. Near the end of the event, one of the kind ladies came up and asked if I wanted to pick any item on the table. I had one of my 'hell yes' moments and picked the bag I loved! I felt so lucky. It will feature in an outfit post soon.

Lavish Alice had the cutest cupcakes! They had such cute pieces for us to look through with animal print and playsuits perfect for this weather we have now! You should check out their website!

It was great to see SBS again especially after their event a few weeks ago. I won an item for doing a style the snap back post which I picked the crochet top which I loved, you can see what I'm talking about in this post here. They had a, guess how many sweets in the jar, I don't think I won that lol

Showcased their crazy print clothing items with very energetic people advertising their brand. I most of all loved picking up the Hawaiian Silk Hyrdation creams. I remember getting a sample in an ASOS order and LOVED it!

This brand is a luxury tanning company. When I saw 'tanning' I stood back a bit and thought that it was not for me, then the lovely lady their recommend a certain product that is very much liked by women of colour. The Capture the Light Opaque which leaves a healthy glow to the skin and smells lovely too.

I had a great day and met some lovely people like Francesca, Deanna, Angie, Rachel as well as some I have met before Sally, Nafisah, Laura, Sam, Maria, and Danielle. I met Michelle and Neil also who both blog and make the cutest jelly button jewellery. Below you can see some of the things I received. Also included but not pictured was a £30 vouncher for Espa, now I love Espa so much so I'm grateful for that!

Murad UK has launched in Leeds!

Last week I attended the patriotic launch of MuradUK in House of Fraser Leeds, 4th July!!
I was so excited to attend because I have heard so much about the brand and was intrigued to find out more.  This counter is the first one outside of America apart from London- 'MuradSpace'. Skin consultations were done and cleverly there was a 'reveal imager' equipment which was used to see the skins condition in detail. This scared me a little, but in a good way... if that is possible. It showed the skin pigmentation, skin redness, oils etc. This is great for helping you make informed decisions on how to improve your skin.
Claire Cooper from Hollyoaks was there at the launch, there's a picture of us on my instagram (@mintyessence), and the mayor made an appearance too.

The brand is great at catering to different skin types and of all ages:
Age Reform- for genetic ageing
Age Reform Intensives- next generation anti ageing
Environmental Shield- for environmental ageing
Resurgence- for hormonal ageing
Vitalic- for normal/ combinational skin
Blemish Control- for skin prone to acne
Murad Man- for male skin and shaving
Redness Therapy- for sensitive skin
Firm & Tone Body Care- for cellulite and stretch marks
Age Proof Sun-care- for anti-ageing sun protection
Anti Aging Blemish- for adult blemishes and anti ageing
Hybrids- where suncare meets makeup
White Brilliance- for lightening and evening skin

The one that appealed to me was the Gentle Blemish treatment gel from the Blemish Control range. I am really keen on trying this to see if it really does reduce blemishes from those pesky spots.

I was kindly given the Summer Sun Essentials pack which I must say contains a gorgeous smelling pomegranate lip protector with SPF15. It comes with an Oil-free sunscreen broad spectrum SPF30, and essential-C Cleanser and an Advanced Active Radiance Serum. Having dark skin does not exclude me from protecting my skin from the damaging sun rays. This set helps to reduce hyper-pigmentation whilst preventing sun damage. Win! win! These will definitely making an appearance in my travel/sun essentials for my holiday.

I am very impressed with Murad so far especially finding out the background of  Dr Howard Murad himself and how he started making these products. He is one of LA's top dermatologists who even did biopsies on his own arm for the purposes of his product making. Did you know these products are NOT tested on animals? You do now ;)

I would recommend you book yourself in for a consultation/treatment and tell me what you think!
