Cocktails with Joan Collins | Timeless Beauty Launch

The other day I was invited down to the Claridges hotel in London to enjoy cocktails with Joan Collins whilst previewing her Timeless beauty range. Yes at one of the most prestigious hotels and yes with thee Dame Joan Collins!

She is famously known for acting, writing her own books and now having her own beauty range. This includes Cosmetics, Skincare and Fragrances. I have had the chance to try out one of her lipsticks in Fontaine which is a lovely pink. You can see it up close here.

It was a great opportunity to hear what inspired her to create what she did for beauty enthusiasts and swatch, test and smell everything she had out. Whilst sipping on cocktails all based around her filming days like 'Divine Collins', 'Dame Joan' and more. It was also nice to see some products which will be released in November... my birthday month! The shade is called Amanda and the shade is a lovely burnt orange shade which I love!!!

I didn't manage to get a picture with the busy lady herself as she was there one minute and in another room for interviews the next. However it was lovely seeing her in person.

What I did like about the collections is the quality of the packaging. Very expensive looking, durable and quite comparable to Charlotte Tilbury if you like that sort of thing. What I like is that the shades come in lipstick and nail lacquer form so you can really build up a 'similar shade' collection. So if you love one particular shade, you can get them in both forms. The compact mirror stood out to me and definitely one I would love to add to my daily makeup bag. The encrusted diamonds are not over the top but very classic looking with the brand name on it also.

Although there are some shades for the foundation ranging from very light to medium skin tones, this is not accommodation for darker skin tones of women of colour. I however would recommend the pigmented and silky finished lipsticks!

OOTD | 70's Inspired BooHoo Chic

Top: Boohoo
Skirt: HandM
Shoes: ASOS
Bag: Boohoo
Sunglasses: BooHoo

Today's look is inspired by the 70's trend so I included faux suede, tassels and off the shoulder crocheted crop top. I know not everyone suites this trend but that's what I like about making the outfit your own. Work with what looks best on you. I this case I wore this figure hugging midi skirt for an overall feminine look. Personal goal fitting into a size small but whatever the size... do you!!

Transitioning with the super dark purple lippy but keeping the cool nudes and light browns channeling throughout. These pretty low blocked heels were featured on my earlier post showing you how to be a Savvy Sales Shopper here. I did promise to feature them in up coming posts so there you go.

My favorite piece from this whole look aside from the funky sunglasses is the top. So so so flattering and fits perfectly. The quality is great and makes me want to buy more in different colours! If you don't particularly like your arms, which was me but now i'm a lot more happy in my own skin, this allows great 'peek-a-boo' coverage. Meaning the beautiful crocheted details covers those bits you might not want on show when waving frantically at your friend across the street.

Have a look at the Boohoo website as there are lots of great buys at the moment!

What's in my New Look Clutch | Evening Essentials

These are one of my favourite posts to read and write because I love seeing what's inside not only my ever changing daily bag contents but others handbags. As weird as that might sound I find it just as interesting as seeing makeup collections or travel kit guides. That makes more sense now right?

I teamed up with the lovely people at New Look to bring to you what I took with me in my Black Croc Clutch bag one evening. Now this is quite a narrow bag but the huge size makes up for it. In the evenings I generally carry around less items than on a daily basis. I love the croc texture of this bag, the tasseled zip detail and the gold stud rim around it. You can find the bag here which I believe has just been reduced in the sales:
Black Croc Texture Pin Stud Trim Portfolio Clutch

These are the contents in my bag:
  • Portable Charger
  • New Look Pure Blush Perfume 50ml
  • New Look Lipstick- Deep Pink
  • NYX Butter Gloss- Praline
  • Car Keys
  • Cath Kidsten Card holder
  • Muji Pen- Pink
  • Iphone 6 Plus
  • Oyster Card/ Business Card/ Debit Card
  • Disneyland Lollipop

This all was put together when I went to London to see Lion King the Musical hence why I have my oyster card! Lion King was ahhh-MAZING! I would so totally recommend and it definitely, like many of you commented, was worth the experience. It has always been a childhood love! I really want to keep the 'West End Show' bug alive so I am 100% ready to see more!

I like carrying sweet things in my bag just in case you get a little peckish or end up stranded with no food. Very nutritional don't you think? I bought a bunch of these cute shaped lollies from Disneyland Paris and still have some left. This New Look perfume smells very elegant, mature but playful and floral. It lasts really well throughout the day which I love and gains brownie points for.
This deep pink lipstick will probably make a debut on Instagram soon because its that good!

New In | Transitioning Footwear from Summer to Autumn 15 with Thinkmoney

This post will be based around transitioning your look from the Summer months to the cooler months of Autumn Winter 2015. I must say this is nearly all year round living in the UK but teaming up with ThinkMoney, I will show you a small way you can do this within a budget.

When I update my wardrobe throughout the year, I believe in adding new pieces and getting rid of pieces at the same time. When I say this I mean either giving to charity, family or selling off on depop or ebay. Another thing I do is keep my winter/ summer clothes in storage when not in use... like at my parents' house :)

For this post I will show you three footwear pieces that I picked from the sale section on ASOS. They all meet the 'requirements' for different occasions and great for transitioning between Summer and Autumn. It's all about the cut-outs!!

This post is to encourage you not to break the bank to keep up with the trends as I found myself some great bargains. All for less than £55. £52.50 to be exact!! The challenge was accepted and I showed just how savvy I could be in the sales. You can be just that too! You can see how much I saved later.

New Look Sevens Cut Out Heeled Shoes £24.99  £14.50*
These killer pointed heeled boots are amazing! Not only do they have a cute cut-out at the sides, gold plating on the heels but they are also faux suede which tick all the right boxes. The price was a no brainer especially considering how many different ways you can wear this pair with different clothes. The only thing which is slightly annoying is the wide rim around my ankles as they are pretty narrow but nothing major.

ASOS High Walk Heeled  Sandals £30.00  £18.00*
These off white strappy low heeled sandals are not everyone's cup of tea but are certainly mine. They are comfy, formal looking and great for evenings our or 'put-together' casual looks. They have them in so many colours on ASOS I found it slightly difficult to choose from but I thought I would add a bright colour for some contrast in the cooler months to come. I can see this working with skinny jeans and a thick knitted jumper. Bring on the layers!

ASOS Apollo Leather Cut Out Ankle Boots £42.00   £20.00
These boots are perfect for everyday shenanigans. They are so comfy and look better in person. I feel you can wear these with with socks and without which make it so versitile. I love that slight bit of skin that peeps through with the strap detailing. Did I mention these are all leather and bought for such a good price!

The total saving was: £44.49  Not bad huh?
You will be seeing these shoes in future outfit posts soon, so look out for them!

Have you spotted any good sales recently?

The Gold Edit | Embryolisse, Phonecase and Joan Collins Timeless Beauty

The gold edit includes some of my current favourites so keep reading if you want to find out what they are!

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre Gold Edition is my new holy grail product when it comes to skincare. I find it highly moisturising as a base under my makeup and I just feel my skin loves it! It does not leave my face oily even though I am prone to oil around my t-zones As there is no scent, it is great for sensitive skin. You can buy this in it's normal white packaging but I bought this limited edition at IMATS this year. It contains vital vitamins that are quickly absorbed and many people in the MUA profession use this as a base.

This Eiffel Tower Iphone 6 Plus case looks beautiful against my gold apple logo! You must agree huh? It was one of those impulse buys when I visited Paris in August. One of the stalls were selling this near the famous monument over priced of course for what it was... but I had a 'I'll still buy it' moment. A great souvenir that I'm still using and hopefully continue to use if it lasts a long time. Oh and it was £15 after bringing the price down significantly :) Similar can be found here.

Next up is this gorgeous Joan Collins Lipstick! Today I am off to see the iconic lady herself launch some of her A/W collection. Look out for an up coming post about that. Known for bold red lipstick acting and writing she also had a beauty range! This vibrant pink lipstick comes in such a classy packaging like many of her other products. Very sturdy and expensive looking all for the price of £18*. This is in the shade 'Fontaine'. If you check out her website there are compacts to choose from and different shades. She also sells fragrances, nail polishes, skincare and accessories. I am very keen to try the lipstick in 'Sadie'.
I would say the luxurious appearance of the lipstick is very timeless indeed. The lasting power is good. If you like a moisturising satin, pigmented hot pink colour you will like this indeed.

Mini gold rings are just for the added 'instagram' imagery but also a good touch to a plain look. I find they are like bobby pins though... you have a lot to start off with but then they just disappear one by one. These were from primark a while back.

Have you got any Gold themed favourites?

Review: Ritzy Kiss Lashes

When it comes to lashes, the brand KISS is always what I can rely on. There are so many different types of lengths and looks to choose from not to mention the affordable price range.

I was sent some lavish 'Ritzy' lashes to try out
so I will give you my personal opinion on these.

The reason why I love this pair so much is because of the realistic tapered edges. They can look pretty natural blended with your true lashes. The length is medium to long really making your eyes pop. It's true when they say the 'New True Volume lashes' can make lashes, which can't quite cut it naturally or with mascara, look very full with these extensions.

Made from 100% human hair, adding so much volume to the eyes you are guaranteed to stand out from the crowd. I have small eyes which I have mentioned before so I slightly trim the strip for a perfect fit. You can always use the excess for infills later.

These lashes do come with some adhesive but I prefer using the DUO one as it lasts longer.

Overall I would like to say these are my new favourite pair of false eyelashes They look super girly and I have them just in time for the Autumn Winter parties coming up. You can use them up to five times but i'm lucky to get up to three uses if I haven't lost them already :/

And yes I do have purple eyebrows in these photos using the sugarpill palette. Slightly crazy but I like!

You can buy a pair of these lashes in Boots for £4.49* here
There is a buy one get any kiss lash/ nail product for half price currently running so check that out!!

New In | Lush Haul August 2015

As you may have seen from my recent post, I recently attended Lush's Summer Event in Southampton which brought to us exclusives and current favourites. The theme of this was based around 'The Layer Cake Bar' inspired by the Layer Cake Soap.
You can read all about that here!

In this post I will show you what I bought in my recent Lush shopping trip. Below I will feature the items I was kindly gifted from Lush themselves and cannot wait to try.

I will at a later date review my favorite items for an in depth insight into my thoughts of individual bath luxuries.

Here's what I got!!

Frozen  | Bath Bomb £3.95
Smelling this in the shop just made me want to sing 'Let it Go' to the top of my lungs. When the question was posed to me "Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play?" my obvious response was YES! Inspired by the actual movie Frozen, Lush brings to you an enchanted bath bomb that smells and looks like what you would expect from a frozen bath bomb. Silver swirls, sparkles and my favourite smelling ingredients ever... neroli!!! Any blue looking bath fizz I love because it mimics  the clear, beautiful blue sea.

Pink Flamingo | Reusable Bubble Bar £5.95
This bubble Bar on a stick is a bit more pricey due to its reusable properties. After going to the South of France and seeing lots of flamingos... I knew I needed this flamingo in my life. Packed with rosewood fragrance, macadamia nut oil and bergamot leaves you will leave your bath feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Intergalactic | Bath Bomb £3.95
This bath bomb smells so minty and fresh as it contains peppermint  and cedarwood. The swirls replicate the galaxies in outta space, rockets and spaceships. I guess you can let your imagination run wild. Very peculiar as it contains a hint of 80's aftershave but I do love the smell of it. Cannot wait to use it because the bubbles it created in the shop were immense!

Milky Bath | Bubble Bar £3.75
Treating your skin to a dose of happiness is exactly what this milky bar brings. I find it's scent extremely calm and great for clearing your mind. Fresh and very clean I think this would be great for a pamper gift package. The orange oil and cocoa butter makes you feel so soft afterwards. I don't want to crumble and ruin it! I'm curious to see how glittery it makes my bath with it's sparkly top.

The Comforter | Shower Gel £4.75
Sweet, berrylicious, scrumptious and uplifting comes to mind when smelling this shower gel. I love love love sweet smelling bath gels so this is so dreamy to use and I find a little goes a long way as it is very liquidy. I have to buy a bigger bottle when this is finished as I got the small one to trial it out. The only thing is that I wish it created more bubbles as I like to get lost in it all but I think the smell and colour makes up for it!
WARNING: If you don't appreciate sickly sweet scents then this product is not for you.

The Experimenter | Bath Bomb £3.95
After seeing The Experimenter being demonstrated I was in awe! The amazing rainbow colours that come out once dropped in the bath is WOW! You can see what it looks like below. Packed with popping candy and fairtrade vanilla... you might want to record it go!! Apparently the end result is a murky green/grey colour due to the multi-coloured bath bomb so enjoy the initial appearance as it happens.

Golden Handshake | Hot Hand Mask £2.95*
This pampering oil when melted in your hands leaves your paws feeling super soft. The essential oils such as argan and avocado is absorbed. Great if you use your hands a lot or tend to over wash them taking most of the natural oils out.

Kinky | Hot Oil Treatment £6.50*
This treatment when melted down and applied to the hair is aimed to hydrate maintain curls and make your hair silky soft again.

Plumps | Solid Conditioner £6.95*
I have never tried any of Lush's hair products so I am excited to try this conditioner. I am all about conditioners especially when my hair is in braids. I love that it's pink but it also has a subtle unisex smell so great for both men and women!

Creamy Candy | Bubble Bar £2.95*
This sweet treat which is a close comparison to the scent of candy floss is the definition of lush! Leaving your skin silky smooth, soft and yummy after soaking yourself in the bubbles. I think I love this even more knowing I hand crafted it myself!

Finding out the sad news that The Godmother soap £5.58 will be discontinued was disheartening. So I thought I would stock up and buy some-more for when I run out of the one I am using at the moment.

The gifts I was gifted from Lush Southampton themselves have an (*) next to them. The Experimenter was gifted and bought so I have two in my possession... double fun I think. Obviously not at the same time but imagine that!!  Thanks again Lush!
