Food Review: Coliseum Leisure Shopping Park

A few weeks ago I was invited up to Coliseum Shopping Park in Ellesmere Port to experience what food and entertainment places were available on the complex. I got the chance to sample different courses at different venues to gain a sense of what the various restaurants had to offer.
With a bit of crazy golf thrown into the mix, this is what went down!
First up me and some other lifestyle bloggers met up in Chiquitos where I had a super cooling drink. Fortunate to have a beautifully hot day that day, the Agua Fresca Strawberry with Raspberry and Passion fruit with Mango were great thirst quencher. Thanks to Andy for putting on a great show at the bar… it set a great mood for the rest of the evening. Whilst we were waiting to got to the next venue, we were treated to some nachos which were perfect appetisers.

Next Up was Nandos for starters. When I go to Nandos I tend to get the usual and jump right into the main course as opposed to getting starters. So this was a great opportunity to try a range of options off the starters menu! There were peri-peri nuts, garlic bread, chicken wing roulette of various spices, spicy olives, pita bread and hummus with peri drizzle. The wing roulette was fun but I am not a stranger to Nandos wings. They are amazing!! I had never tried the hummus with peri-drizzle which lets be honest… a red concoction in that tiny bottle looks deceiving and deadly. I thought it would blow my head off with spice but it was not that bad. If anything just the smallest tingle on the tongue so I really enjoyed that! The nuts were more-ish indeed even for a little snack!

For the main we went to Coal grill and bar which is a new one for me. I opted for the Chicken Calzone which was scrumptious and filling. I could not fault it. They also have a great selection for cuts of meat, burgers and finger foods. I would definitely recommend here!

For dessert we headed to Frankie and Benny’s for a sugar high. Me being me went for my usual “anything with brownie” frame of mind and picked the brownie and ice-cream. It was sooo good and every piece of brownie was warm and soft and hmmmmm!
Another great option on the menu, if I couldn’t decide on what to have it would be the “Can’t decider”. What a name huh!? You know those people who constantly say “I don’t know what to pick” well hello… no excuses now. This comes with four different mini slices of cake and ice-cream to cleanse the palette. This was a lovely end to the evening!

There are many health, beauty, fashion, sports and electrical shops on the same complex as well as restaurants. A small walk away is the Cheshire Oaks designer outlet which makes this location one for a lovely and expensive day out. On this particular day I went after work but i will definitely have to go back with a whole day to spend there. They even have bowling and other activities to get up to also!

Will you be visiting the Coliseum Leisure centre anytime soon?
